Clynelish Secret Room Story Telling Interactive Table

The most complex project made with Frozen Fish Design so far is an interactive table for the new premise of the Clynlish distillery in Highland Scotland.

The Interactive Table is the main piece of a storytelling room.

It is linked to aQ-sys system which provides full synchronisation with music and light effects throughout the story unravelling.

The table allows 12 guests to sit around as well as the guide.

The room contains 7 wall props in total, from where some of the 12 guests will be invited to pick up a key.

Each key inserted into an organised sequence of the key slots from the table Guide’s side onto the table top will trigger first the table centre chest to rise to the surprise of the guests; this chest contains 12 draw sections of 6 drawers.

The remaining 6 keys open a logical sequence of drawers which offers each a different experience linked to the storytelling.

I was in charge in this project of the table Sub-Assembly. The main challenges being the selection of the lifting mechanism and the important overhang of the table worktop from the structure.

I also managed the definition of the wall props which were 3D printed and metallised using vacuum metallising.

Finally I have designed and project managed the realisation of a lantern of the shape of a still. The body of the lantern was 3d printed from a bunch of different parts while the trigger and adjustment of the light was automated via arduino.

The table programing involved a PLC and different sensor for passing information in order to release other triggers for sequences linked to the stroty telling as well as safety reasons.
